Mark Bendure Selected To Participate in Michigan Supreme Court Outreach
This May, 2009, Mark Bendure was asked by the Michigan Supreme Court's (MSC) community Outreach Program to argue an appeal---not in the MSC's Lansing courtroom where arguments are typically held---but in one of Michigan's oldest historic courtrooms located in Centreville, Michigan. Centreville is in St. Joseph County, right on the Michigan-Indiana boarder.
The event began with a luncheon in Sturgis, Michigan, attended by all the justices of the MSC, Mark, his opposing counsel, Mark Granzatto, and various local high school students and teachers. Afterward, the arguments on the case took place in the historic courthouse in Centreville, about 15 miles away. The audience for the argument, as you will see from the photos, was local high school students and teachers, a part of the county's Law Day festivities.
